Blue Flypaper Proclaims Ted Kennedy is one of us!

Ted represents America the way we are and not some idealized portrayal of people in conservative Hollywood movies. We are not a nation of perfectly looking people. We are not a a nation of thin people or a nation of athletic e people. Our minority-hating President may exercise and concern himself with physical fitness, dietary discipline, etc., but the rest of us don't. We're focused on more important things than physical health and appearance! Look at Ted and you see America--all of it!

Teddy is like America in other ways. Unlike President I'm-so-perfect-aren't-I Bush, we are a people who make mistakes; that's how we learn. Kennedy had Chappaquiddick, and that was a really good learning experience as evidenced by it never happened again. How do you learn if you don't make a small mistake like that once in awhile and who of us can't say that we haven't had our own little Chappaquiddicks that in the end left us as better people?

We are a nation that has a passion for our heritage. That's why Kennedy has been such a good and loyal supporter of Sinn Fein and the freedom fighters of the IRA. Ted is just being American in this regard and what have those British ever done for us anyway compared to those Fightin' Irish!

We are a nation who stands by our family members in times of need. Think about how Teddy and the Kennedy clan pulled together to support William Kennedy Smith with those nasty rape allegations. Ted was right there the whole time starting with the night the girl was raped (sporting the "no trouser" look as I remember) and never left William's side through the whole matter.

Teddy is America and America is Teddy. Let's never forget that and rejoice that he's just like us!

Other than the fact that he and I both have man-tits (his are a LOT bigger though), Teddy Kennedy (D-Chivas) and I have NOTHING in common. Praise the Lord!

It's hard to imagine Massachusetts without Ted Kennedy. Kerry, maybe. Romney, without a doubt. That guy's a sell out.

Your blog really hit home for me. This country was built by the kennedys. How wonderful is it to see someone like Mr. Kennedy doing things like regular folk such as sailing his own boat, when he could have the hired help do it for him! So down to earth and real. Although, I'm not sure if I agree that all the Kennedys are above caring about being beautiful. Maria Shriver seems a little superficial in that respect. Although, I'm not sure if she's technically considered a "Kennedy", since her last name is Shriver.

Ted Kennedy is not like the rest of America; the obese are still a minority. Health problems be damned, tax the healthy they will pay for it. As for Chappaquiddick; a small mistake? I met a man who served 14 years for manslaughter for the same mistake. Then again he was not rich or famous. No, Ted Kennedy is not at all like the rest of America.

Well, Teddy may have killed one girl, and that's unfortunate, but he's been against wars that have killed hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of people. Second, as far as jail, I think we all knew that he would have beaten the rap, he's a Kennedy! So he really save the country a lot of money (plus the Kopechnees?) the pain of having to live thru the trial when in the end he would have gotten off clean. What a man!

yes indead ... what a man, sleazy politician, murderer ... what other praises can we bestow upon this rich piece of crap? You constantly bitch about the rich not pulling thier weight with taxes and such but this rich bastard has nothing better to do than sail around on his private yacht ???

But i must commend you on the amazing display of what is wrong with our educational system these days (by that i mean the fact that your aren't still in the third grade for obvious ignorance)

oh ... and by the way i am deeply offended by you using the word "Irish" in the same text as ted or the government as a whole.

I am of irish descent and i take this as a degrogatory reference...

First off, he's a Kennedy! I shouldn't have to say anything more. He is one of the most liberal members of the Senate, it is hard to bestow a greater compliment.

If he's on a yacht, it's probably with a head of state or possibly a lobbyist that he is trying to convince get their client to behave in a more socially beneficial way.

Also, let's stop calling him "sleazy." He hasn't been involved in a drunk driving death or a rape for years and yet people like you keep brining it up. Give it a rest.

Well, you and I probably agree on the noble fight of the Irish against the British's territorial ambitions.

yes i do agree with the irish fighting the british, and i also agree on the american people fighting our opressive government who is being ruled by liberals who want nothing less to see our rights trampled ted being one of the biggest advocates of such legislation.

and just because he hasn't been invloved in drunk driving or rape for years does not mean crap to me. he did it once he can do it again.

If hitler had lived into the present day would you vote for him as president because he "hasn't been involved with mass genocide in years ?"

get a clue.

One strike and you're out. With those criteia no one would be fit to govern. Of course that's probably your goal, get rid of politicians and then let the global corporate behomoths run everything. Since they almost do now, I'm sure your point is "let's finish the job."

Sheesh.

anyone who would give hitler a second chance is obvioulsy mentally incompetent and should not be allowed in the general populace because they are a danger to themselves or others.

I live in Rural New England and have had the occasion to speak with emigrees who were survivors of the holocaust and i can tell you that the horrible things that the nazi's did to these people is beyond your scope of reasoning.

Sit down with one of these increadible survivors and if you think that he should have been givin a second chance then you yourself should be in that gas chamber or prison camp starving to death.

The fact that Ted Kennedy is against war is not and never will be an excuse for murder.

In reading the other comments, your response to “wildcard” – “yet people like you keep bringing it up, ???
You were the one that mentioned it in the original post – “Chappaquiddick, a great learning experience.” That’s disgusting! Hum, birds of a feather?

No one would give Hitler a second chance. Come on, that is a ridiculous argument.

Are you comparing Ted Kennedy to Hitler?

What is your point?

Kennedy is a great man that comes from a great family. A wee little mistake and he gets jumped on. Why? Because he is a tad to the left politically.

I swear you guys would go after your own mothers if you thought they were too liberal.

He killed an innocent person and didn't even report it to the police for over 10 hours !!! He is a murderer who didn't even get as much as a parking ticket !!! you complain endlessly about how our solidiers are killing innocent people in other countrys but you defend rich shit bags who kill innocent people right here ?

WOOT WOOT !!!!
Here comes the clue train !!!
Last stop is you.

How many of those soldiers were destined to become great liberal leaders? Huh? If Teddy was some schmuck then maybe, just maybe it would have played out differently. But he was the "one".

I'm sorry that the Democrats have great leadership but the Republicans don't but don't take it out on the great ones. Channel your frustration into something more positive.

why do you always throw around the names of the political parties like they mean something ? i'm not a democrat or a republican. i think they both suck.

I just want my friggin constitution back.

At 9:32 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

? The political parties certainly do mean something. When Republicans are in power, we go to war. When Democrats are in power we don't. Seems like a pretty big difference to me.
