Blue Flypaper gives a shout out to Janeane Garofalo

Janeanne Garofalo's words are as beautiful to the mind as she is beautiful to the eyes. Garofalo is also one of the most quotable celebrities since Mao Tse Tung. Listen to a few of her sage-like comments:
"Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.' That you can have a gay parade on Christopher Street in New York, with naked men and women on a float cheering, 'We're here, we're queer!' -- that's what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride."

"... when Communist U.S.S.R. was a superpower, the world was better off."
Wow. This woman can think, talk and act, which is probably a lot harder than it sounds. How many people can educate us on how this country's forefathers were fundamentally bad people and then be in a big hit like "Mystery Men" at the same time?

Perhaps her greatest gift is the incredible number of things she can be against. It is amazing. Try it yourself and you will see that it isn't that easy.

If this is satire, then it's funnier than Calvin & Hobbs (sorry, but I have a blind spot when it comes to satire). If it isn't, then you're crazy. And blind.

I have learned that when people really want to put you down and don't have the courage to fight you with Facts (with a capitalized "F"), then they accuse you of being a joke. I think that is called ad homonum or something basically meaning attack the person and not the argument. With something like 10 million people who've become homeless by the Bush administration, I can see why the Right wants to avoid facts!

While we're at it, I find you comment to be satire too! How does it feel now?

It's ad hominem. What attack? I think it is brilliant, in a Machiavellian sort of way.

That, or it's dumber than a box of rocks. Take your pick.

I did not accuse you of BEING a joke, I wondered if you were MAKING a joke. Huge difference. If you were serious, you have my apologies. But you're still crazy. And blind.

I write from the heart and I will keep writing until I no longer have to witness injustice everywhere I look. In fact, just the other day I saw some Republican-caused poverty, and it hurt me so much inside. Fortunately I was on my way to group and was able to talk through it.

You my friend are abusive, hateful, and mean.

Yes i am and i am goddamn proud of it. If Janeane Garofalo likes burning flags she probably likes burning crosses too, on the front lawns of ethnic minoritys while dressed in a bedsheet. She don't like america ? GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR DAMN COUNTRY THEN !!! Go do your burning somewhere else.

She loves this country and that is why she is working so hard to make it better. That is just one of the reasons she is so beautiful. God, I'd love to meet her one day!

why spend all that time making this one "better" when there are countrys out there that already are "better" (note to non-liberals: substitute the word "suck" for "better")

At 7:06 AM, Blogger True Blue said...

...because I want to make the world better by starting with this one.

At 6:40 PM, Anonymous WildCard said...

So you want the whole world to see things your way? Ok Adolf. What happened to your diversity and different cultures speal? if everything in the world is the same then whats the point?

At 9:40 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

Yes, I want the whole world to see beauty, truth, justic and love. You seem to want something else.

At 9:54 PM, Anonymous WildCard said...

Yeah i do want something else freedom.

At 9:39 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

We both want freedom. I want freedom from racism, sexism, ageism, regionalism, nationalism, personal responsibility-ism, wealthism, and so many more. I see a world where we one day reach that but only if we start working (and taxing) toward it now.

Chairman Mao really? I am sure anyone would love being compared to a tyranical despot like that... In case you didn't understand what I just said it would be like a conservative calling a liberal George W. Bush.

I understand completely. George W. Bush is a very bad man.
