Do you know how much strength it takes to say NO! to everything? I didn't think so.

These have been trying times. First I read that the number of homeless people in Los Angeles is growing. It's something like 750,000 people in LA alone and it so bothers me that we'd rather kill people in the Middle East than help the hardworking and noble souls who need homes in Los Angeles but can't have them because Republicans took them away to build mini-malls and Nike factories. Sometimes I feel that if the homeless people in LA had launched a Homeless Jihad then maybe they'd be getting the same attention that the mid-east freedom fighters are getting. I guess we ignore the good guys.

Second, I did a simple post pointing out a mean spirited blog that I think typlifies the problems we have in this country. I normally would have ignored them but they posted us on a blog called Fark (well click here for the story), anyway I was shocked and dismayed to learn that they are not alone. There are legions and legions of similarly mean and misguided sites, I'll call them conservative bloggers and the fact they even exist scares the heck out of me. If you think I am exaggerating, check out a blog called "Boxer Watch." Yikes! Now part of me thinks that it is a parody site put up by loyal Democrats just to show how stupid the fascist, McVeigh-loving right-wingers are. However, if it is a real site, then whoever is running it is someone who needs a reality check.

To them and everyone I ask, "where would this country be, if we did not have Barbara Boxer?" In the toilet I tell you. She has done more to stop, halt, delay, and obfuscate the hateful Republican agenda. Who do you think has been responsible for the gridlock we've been lucky to have? The Republicans you say? Yeah right. Repubs don't even know how to filibuster. I shiver when I think all of the things that would be getting done if Boxer wasn't there to block them.

So during trying times like this, I take a deep breath and think of all of the great Democrat leaders we have out there. Fox News and other conservative outlets may not cover them but the Ted Kennedys, Hillary Clintons, and especially the Barbara Boxers will get us away from the economic problems and terrorism all caused by Bush!

Update: Boxer Watch has been added to the Blue Flypaper Black List.

There is so much wrong with this posting that I'm not going to spend all night ripping it apart. Let's just focus on your homeless count. 750,000? That's 8 times the already inflated figure just released. At least get your facts straight before making indefensible conclusions.

I love it when the Right (mis)-uses statistics. If anything that number is low. Second when you say "there is so much wrong.." and then only list one thing (which, by the way, you are WRONG) then it is clear that you are stretching to find ANYTHING wrong with the post.

Finally, I know who you are. You are "Insider" of Independent Sources and you guys sit around and make snarky comments about anything you don't agree with (which by the way is a lot).

This blog which is supposed to be about honoring great Americans like the Baldwins, Madonnas, Streisands, Boxers, etc.! You aren't on the list so I don't know why you're even here. For reasons that only you know, you posted about me on Fark and now making your rude comments.

I believe in the first admendment but not when it involves dissenting opinions like yours!

Strange, but the current webpage from the Los Angeles Coalition to end Hunger and Homelessness (http://www.lacehh.org/factsheet2003A.htm) lists between 50,000 - 85,000 homeless in Los Angeles at any given night. They also estimate that 375,000 have experienced homelessness in the LAST FIVE YEARS.

Those are the figures, dear heart, with a link. Your figures are way high. At least twice what is being reported for the last five years.

Those are gross undercounts. I believe there are something like 10 million homeless in the U.S. alone (an the number goes up if you count people who can only rent and cannot afford to buy a home). Look around, homeless people are absolutely everywhere. So sad. What does our President do about this? Invades Iraq. Go figure.

heres an idea ... why don't the kennedys, baldwins, boxers, kerrys, and all these other rich pieces of trash use thier untold millions to buy everyone in america who cannot afford it a home.

i am among those who cannot afford a house because i'm not a rich liberal lawyer or high ranking executive asshole from Mass. or Conn. or New York or Rhode Island who buy up all the property in New England to build thier "Vacation" homes and drive the values sky high so no one making less than $300,000 a year can afford a home.these are the same jerks who voted for john kerry in the last election.

It really sounds like these people have our best interests at heart.

And Haliburton does? If we raised taxes on the wealthiest 1% we could wipe out homelessness and pretty much poverty. The fact that this won't happen isn't the fault of the selfless celebrities that are working so hard on all of our behalfs. First to entertain us and second to educate us on how we are victims.

Who is Halliburton? Are you serious? They are the reason we are in Iraq. They decided the last election. They control Roberts. Halliburton is the public face of the shadow government that controls the country.

How can you not be aware of this?

HAHAHA that hilarious. Haliburton is the reason that Liberal idiots are invading my state. An Oil Company... are you ****ing serious?

To bad the influx of flatlanders goes much further back than the Bush presidency. Try Carter or even a few years before.

If the Irish are battling a "noble fight of the Irish against the British's territorial ambitions"(your word not mine)then shouldn't i be able to instate my own noble fight against liberal territorial ambitions? (meaning them moving into my state ?

The shadow government of the U.S. is a secret government within the government. This secret government is the 'real' government that controls the known government's basic course. The members' identities and meeting halls of the secret shadow government are only known by a select few but we know VP Chenny is high up in the shawdow government's ranks. This secret government is corrupt and has connections to the C.I.A. How do you not know this? Everyone else does?
