Conservative Bloggers Rush to Judgment (Again!)
Once again the conservative bloggers are out there pointing the finger at Islam. I'm referring to people like the Jawa Report, Michele Malkin and Independent Sources. Boy do these sites make me mad.
- Since it's a suicide bombing it must be an Islamist.
- Because he tried to get into a crowded stadium while wearing a bomb around his body, he must be a bad guy.
- Just because he attended a Mosque, he's connected with Islam.
- Just because he wears a beard and looks like an "Islamic Doogie Howser," people think it's okay to make a joke out of it.
If this is terrorism then every person who overdoses on pills or jumps off of a bridge or hangs themselves is a terrorist. Or is it only when a Muslim kills themselves is it "terrorism"?
Sure by our mores blowing one's self up in a public place might seem extreme and possibly dangerous to passersby. However, to someone in Iran, jumping off a bridge might seem equally extreme and equally dangerous to those who might be below them. But do we call these folks "terrorists"?
We are so hypocritical that it makes me sad. If there is any good that might come out of this young man giving up his life is that perhaps we will learn to change our ways that forces young men such as this into a corner where there is no one to hear their pleas for help.

I don't judge people by their outward appearance but instead by their deeds. That said, Malkin preaches a form of politics (conservatism) that is ugly.
So did you send Michelle Malkin one of your "ultimatum letters", BlueBabe?
What, no Blacklist attempt on someone who has more brains in her eyelash than you do in your entire cranium?
Dare ya.

actually I find true blue's blog quite refreshing, even if the points of view express are indeed real -- it still has a classic comedic value.
don't change it! :)
re: Malkin and others
That's the said thing there are so many sites to blacklist and so little time. I'm working on another blacklist candidate and will let you try to figure out who it is.
BlueBabe, you can do better than that.
Dare ya to go fix gender inequities in say, Saudi Arabia...
We must not and cannot judge other cultures through our biased western eyes.
Am I nuts, or is that Doogie Howser with a beard?
"Islamic Doogie" blows himself up, I guess.
LOL that's a cheat, BlueBabe, and you know it.
You can trash western and Christian morals and values all you want, because you know that you can get away with it, without threat of bodily harm...but I dare you to have the same attitude towards Islam, and Muslims, especially those who would issue death threats against a girl who dares to open her mouth, such as you.
And, believe it or not, there are many muslims who would deal harshly with a girl for speaking her mind, BlueBabe.
It's not a cheat. It would be like calling a victim of racism a racist themselves, you just can't do it.
We can't judge other cultures only our own. This is because it is impossible for us to look at other cultures without being biased by our own belief systems. How can you judge color if you only can see black and white?
As for Islam being responsible for death threats, those are not the work of Islam. Instead they are just a few individuals who are acting out against the injustices that have been served on them by the West for the past 1000 years or so. If you step on a dog's tail, it barks. You don't yell at the dog, you just stop stepping on it's tail.
If we stop stepping on the tail of Muslims, they will stop barking (ie, getting onto crowded busses with bombs strapped to their bodies). Pretty much the same thing.
As for what this poor young man looks like, others have said Screech of Saved by the Bell, whoever the heck that is.
So I guess every man with a beard, between the ages of 18 and 34, who blows up in public is an islamic bomber? Bigots! His father said "he was a good boy".
What happened to compassion in this country? That poor boy lost his life because biggots in this country drove him to it. It looks like he went to great lengths to hurt anyone else while blowing himself to smithereens.
Blue, my heroine, could you enable comments in your next post - the "heroes of Blue" one - pretty please
Great, I've become the Craigslist "missed connections" for hateful conservative bloggers!
Fatman, look below the last name and there is a link to the comments. I just wanted them to go to the original post instead of being split.
I also got a couple of nice suggestions on adding to the honor roll and just added those this morning.
If the parents of that guy had brought him up in a CHRISTIAN church, his picture wouldn't be on your blog.
If your mother had not dropped you on your head as a baby, there would be one less idiot on the internet.
If our society did not disenfranchise him he would not have been forced to do what he did.
I'm still trying to figure out if this site is a joke or not. Perhaps something along the lines of The People's Cube because no one without serious brain damage could really hold such incoherent views.
You said "I don't judge people by their outward appearance but instead by their deeds" in the comments field of a post that sarcastically stated "Because he tried to get into a crowded stadium while wearing a bomb around his body, he must be a bad guy."
If "going into a stadium with a bomb" isn't an "deed" that makes you a "bad person," what exactly does?
Oh yeah! Being conservative. I forgot. So having an ideology that is opposed to yours makes one a "bad guy" but attempting to blow up people doesn't ... unless, of course, you're the military.
I don't think you are a bad guy just because you are "conservative." I think you are misguided because you support low taxes for the obscenely wealthly and no health care for poor people. I question your morals when you support an illegal war on one hand and racist policies at home that led to countless unnceccessary hurricane deaths amongst people of color.
As for the "suicide bomber". He didn't hurt anyone other than himself and if that doesn't make him a victim then nothing does. He deserves our sorrow.
He may or may not tried to enter the stadium while wired up, that we'll never know. But he didn't end up doing so, which shows his compassion and bravery which is a lot more than I can say of the conservative bloggers who have been attacking him, his family and his faith.
