Blue Flypaper Black List

Thank you for helping make the Blue Flypaper Black List the nation's #1 Black List! (Make sure to stay away from these sites at all costs. It is probably a good idea to check here first before ever visiting a new site to make sure that they aren't conservatives!).

1. Independent Sources (added 8/9/05). If you look up "evil" in Wikipedia, these folks are there.
2. BoxerWatch (added 8/11/05). Anyone who doesn't worship Barbara is delusional.
3. BoiFromTroy (added 8/12/05). Sharp looking blog clouds evil politics inside.
4. Area417 (added 8/15/05). Against the ACLU? Surely they're joking!
5. Patterico Pontifications (added 8/16/05). Must be a Daily Breeze employee!
6. Alphecca (added 8/28/05). Happy to see me or is that a gun in your pocket?
7. Eyes on the Ball (added 9/1/05). Their site has a to-do list. It's missing "stop blogging!"
8. Hell in a Handbasket (added 9/1/05). The phrase "2nd Amendment" says it all!
10. "Mr. Minority." (added 9/6/05).Great name until you learn he's a white male!
11. "Odyssey" (added 9/7/05). Yet another heavily armed white male.(This one is in Iraq!)
12. "Blogonomicon" (added 9/10/05). A self-described "womyn-hating gun-toting right-wing reactionary."
13. "Samanta Burns" (added 9/16/05) Needs to learn she's supporting peeps who oppress her!
14. Mayor Sam's Sister City (added 10/16/05). Dared to attack Maxine Waters!
15. Fatman Chronicles (added 10/22/05). Insensitive moniker and union hater.
16. Next to Last Samurai (added 1/19/06).

One sure way to get blacklisted is to write about me and say something derogratory in your blog. That really, really hurts me inside and since I don't want senstive liberals to have to read such filth, I'm more likely to black list it so that no one reads it.

Support our Black List!

Elisa, being on this list is not a good thing. Of course disrespecting Barbara Boxer is not a good thing so you may not understand that. How many celebrities have you lauded on your site anyway? Probably zero, a fact that I think speaks for itself.

At 12:14 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh, thank gGod! A list of sites I can feel comfortable visiting! Anyone who takes this POS blog seriously and thinks that Dan rather is some kind of god and that news needs interpretting (btw, journalism school teaches you NOT to interpret, just to report the facts, you morons!) definitely sucks ass if you ask me.

At 4:45 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

You are a mean person and it's too bad that you left a comment under "anonymous" since that tarnishes all anyonymous posters.

If all we needed was simple reporters, then we could hire pretty much anyone to do the news. No, we need reporters who can tell us what is going on and how we should be reacting to the news. That's a reporters job. Rather did that better than anyone. He did such a good job at the last inauguration to tell us (in so many words) that Bush was a pretender to the throne and that as good citizens, we should not like or support the man. That my friend, is reporting! If you want to go to the sites listed above then that is your choice but be forewarned you could easily end up a minority-hating gun-toting Timmothy McVeigh-loving POS after just a couple of casual reads! You've been warned!

"Interpreting" the news...?

So, let's see.

* We can't think for ourselves theologically, so we hire paid, professional [religionists] to preach to us, instead of learning how to study sacred verses on our own, in their original language, in their historical cultural context.

* We now can't even think for ourselves when events happen that people consider to be "news", so we need someone like Dan-o to "interpret" the news for us.

Kid, take a lesson from Nature, if nothing else: only baby chicks need their food "interpreted" by their mother. The rest of us call that food Vomit.

I once helped an undergrad instructor friend of mine grade freshman-level "position papers" she assigned to a particular class. Assuming this blog entry about Dan is a position paper, as are your comments about the "stay away" blogs, I'd give you an F.

In my humble opinion, you seem to fail to grasp or understand the following:

a) Those who "interpret" the news are Editorial writers, not reporters.

b) News outlets are market-driven, just like anything else offered on television. Perhaps there is a reason that Dan-o's successful "interpretive" news reporting landed him in last place among the Big Three? Must be the meanies, that's it - forget the fact that perhaps people watch the news to learn about the news, rather than one particular person's "interpretation" of it.

c) You claim things like "anyone who doesn't worship Barbara [Boxer] is delusional" without providing any evidence as to why Ms. Boxer deserves "worship", much less what would make someone "delusional" if they don't believe, in essence, that the sun, moon, and stars rise and set on her.

d) ditto for the ACLU...the group that never fails to fight any reference to Christian religious thought or comments in government, while encouraging Muslim protection of Islamic expression in public schools. If you wish to email me, I will take the time to search for examples of what I am talking about, and you can email me at shifting_paradigm1@yahoo.com.

e) Your comments regarding Mary Mapes are completely over the top, in this regard: your comment, "Losing Mary Mapes was also a blow. No one could rush a story through the system like her. Her "gut instinct" did what other producers required fact checkers to do." forgets the fact that fact checkers are *supposed* to be in the loop, as an independent review process. Yet fact checkers and editors still f*** up now and then, as Stephen Glass and Jayson Blair will tell you, among others.

F) finally, the big enchilada: your comment "Dan, I'd say that over 90% of the TV viewing audience wants and needs you back" completely (conveniently?) ignores Dan-o's third place in the ratings. Simple logic lesson for you: if "90% of the TV viewing audience" truly wanted Dan, wouldn't his ratings be higher than third place??? And, if Dan did such a good job reporting on Bush's military record (which was released to the Press in its entirety, as Bush signed the Infamous SF-180 release form without reservations), where was Dan's reporting on Kerry's military record, which held back over 100 pages of material, reported by Navy sources that were forbidden to comment on Kerry's record because JFK failed to sign a full-disclosure SF-180, as Bush did?

By the way, my name is Billy Schneider. I filed this comment under "Anonymous" simply because I didn't care to take the time to register in Blogger. So your assumption regarding "anonymous" posters once again demonstrates what I believe to be your rather (!) woeful lack of intelligence, reasoning ability, and wisdom. In other words, you're a young kid, and you really should spend more time learning and growing, and less time spouting off.

/sigh...kids...

What must one do to get blacklisted?

At 4:00 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

Wow, so much love and so much (Republican) hate in one place. I just don't know what to do. I won't spend too much time here defending my comments re: Barbara Boxer and Dan Rather because of the following. Everyone knows that Boxer is beyond great. If you don't know it in your heart, then you know it in your brain (and if you have neither your name is Schwarzenegger!). Second, Dan Rather was #1 but CBS was #3. If he had been on any other network, say even UPN(!), then he'd been #1. If you don't believe me look it up in the Nielsens!

Now, as for Nightgaunt, what it takes to be blacklisted is to have a blog and spread conservative hate. If you do, you can be sure to find yourself one day on the Blacklist. (If you link to me you are most certainly going to get on the Blacklist).

Once you are on the list you will see your traffic drop to Zero and, I hope someday, advertisers won't want to touch you. Well, that is my dream and it's a good dream.

You remind me of the guy who used to come into the Free-Trade Coffee hut and act all cool and stuff. Then one day I see him driving down the street in an SUV! How many beavers and condors were killed to make that puppy run? We might as well pave Alaska now if that's gonna be how it is.

Sorry Plutosdad, being a hateful conservative is not as easy as it seems. Your site is definitely conservative but it is not quite evil enough to be on the black list. I actually think that people will stay away from it on their own thus saving me the space on the list. Also, you don't say anything bad about me in your blog so it's hard to be made at you enough for the list but I'll keep an eye on you nonetheless.

Funny stuff. I've linked to you and expect that you'll probably blacklist me on general principle, even though you claim to support the troops.

Ma'a salaam...

At 6:04 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

I do support the troops and I'm not going to say some cliche thing like the best way to support them is bring them home. Nope, not me.

I feel the best way to support them is to:

1. Bring them home.
2. Give them demiliataristic training.
3. Give them sensitvity training.
4. Give them cultural training.
5. Give them jobs where they help people and don't kill them. I would make these high paying jobs because I respect that they misguidely "volunteered" to help their country so we should help them. If they did all of the above, I would give them lifetime employment and lifetime nurturing.
6. I would give them new skills like learning French and mime so that they had outlets to express themselves outside of the "kick ass" mentality pushed on them by the militarized industrial complex that runs the country.

Now how's that for supporting the troops? I love them as much as I love my cat "Che."

How could we pay for all of this you ask? By slightly increasing the taxes on this nation's super rich we could pay for it all.

At 6:22 PM, Blogger True Blue said...

You wrote: "A blacklist of sites? Whats the point, if you disagree with them your not likly to read them more than once. Totally pointless."

Then why have ratings on movies? Why have "warning stickers" on videogames? Why have ingredient lists on food stuffs? Why, why, why?

I'll tell you why, information is power. I see a day where people will be able to configure their browser to check the Black List prior to going to a site, this way they will be assured of steering clear of conservative propaganda. Would something like this have helped stop the rise of Fascism in Germany in the 30's? Perhaps. And perhaps it will be the thing that stops conservative fascism in our generation. We can only hope.

Hardly pointless my friend!

Odysseus: You taunt be on whether I support the troops, and I do, just not the way that Bush does. But let me tell you something, you want to come off as supporting the people of New Orleans yet you mock key aspects of their recovery, namely celebrities like Sean Penn. I think we all know that the real healing doesn't start until a few Hollywood celebrities come through and lend their name to the relief effort.

Plus the celebs help bring exposure to the plight of the people there on a story that might otherwise be on the back pages. As for Al Sharpton who better to interject racial overtones into the recovery. Unless you know someone better than Sharpton to do this then I'd expect you to get behind and support this man so that the victims don't have to go wanting on this as well.

Again I say blacklists, or in this pc age should we call them non specific color list? After all may be a law suit from someone claiming that the words black list together are oppressing the African or somesuch.

Anyway non specific colour lists are pointless, as is age ratings on video games and warning ons well pretty much anything really.

After all what is life without a bit of risk, and as I said if someone dislikes a site they sure wont bookmark it.

Don't you think constantly advertising your #1 National Black List is drawing attention to the very sites you want people to avoid?

And isn't your description for your #6 (referring to a man's erection) slightly sexist? From someone so liberal, I am surprised that you would choose such a sophmoric joke.

And I hope that Black List isn't an unsavory reference to African-Americans!! Why choose "black"? Why not grey?

You're only half as good a liberal as you think you are.

At 11:25 AM, Blogger True Blue said...

B those are good points. The "Black List" of course refers to the anti-communist witch trials of the 50s. It was one of our darkest days and was used to try and weed liberals out of Hollywood.

I hadn't thought about the negative implications of #6 and was making a reference to a line by Mae West--a womyn I deeply respect. I will have to be more careful.

Thank you for your support in keeping in keeping this an insensitive free blog!

At 6:34 PM, Blogger B said...

True Blue,

I wouldn't risk saying that all Communists were (or are) Liberals--that's a pretty grand assumption. Joe Kennedy supported McCarthy, and even got Robert a job as an investigator during the "witch hunt" (which I agree is a dark page in American history, not unlike the current Patriot Act deeply entrenched into today's American Policy and supported by both Rebulicans and Democrats). A Communist also shot JFK--not a very Democratic thing to do.

And since you validate your offensive sexist remark concerning male gentiles by citing a hero, Mae West, I will similarly validate the following comment, said by my hero Norm Peterson on the long-running television comedy "Cheers!"--"Women. Can't live with them. . .pass the beer nuts."

Classic abuser/abusee stuff here.

Anyway, I look forward to the day you are free from his shackles and can write from a liberal womyn's point of view. At that point, I'll be happy to retire #13 and it can serve as a notice to all womyn that they don't have to be subservient slaves just because society wants them to be.

You Neocons need new talking points.

When you see something you don't like you say "It lacks believability" or "It distorts the truth" or my favorite "It's a joke."

You say that "Farenheit 9/11" had falsehoods. How can you be serious? It's a documentary, not fiction. You're just made at Michael Moore so you say he makes stuff up and distorts the truth.

You love celebrities when they are in movies but when they tell you what's going on in the world, they are called airheads.

You love Cindy Sheehan until she tells the truth and then you say that she is been exploited by the left and that her exremist views are in the minority.

And when it comes to a person like me who calls it like I see it, you make fun of me and my loyal readers.

I would think the neocons would be happy. We have 2 wars going on, isn't that enough to keep you occupied for awhile. What does it take to make you happy, invade Canada?

I think you need a scented candle tonight and some roselips in your bath. You need to settle down and relax.

From what I understand is that Clinton was blackmailed into using Haliburton. If he didn't the Republicans were goin to knock 10 million people off of welmare--many of them kids. Clinton did the best he could but in the end Chaney and his shadow goverment won out on that point. Clinton intended to expose the whole group but then he got set up by Karl Rove and Monica Lewinsky.

So Clinton gets his bits polished, then decides to lie about, gets found out and finally has to come clean(pardon the phrasing) - if thats what you mean by him being set up, then I get he must have been.

By the way are you really this liberal or just this stupid if this is a farce good job, I haven't laughed this hard since I saw Tommy Boy the first time.

At 8:38 AM, Blogger True Blue said...

By that logic we there wouldn't be warning stickers on anything. We have ratings on movies (R and NC tell you that there is sexism and probably violence against womyn), we have warnings on food for people with allergies and for bio-engineered food, we have 'no trespassing' signs. So why is it weird to have one place that sensible people can go to make sure that they don't end up at a conservative hate site by mistake. If you went to Alphecca you might get shot at (in a literal sense). Anyway, you get the idea.

It is a sad thing that some people just like to spread hatred and falsehoods. Those are the people I put on the list and with a few exceptions most people are very happy with it's existence. The only unhappy ones are those blacklisted because their traffic drops (I assume) and it certainly can't help with their advertising efforts.

"If helping the poor and fighting hatrid are lunacy, sign me up."

"Stupefying lunacy" relates, not to those specific intentions (i.e. helping the poor and fighting hatrid[sic]), but to both the coherence of your ideas and the deleterious effects of their practical outworking.

These ideas in practice have the opposite effect as their intentions (as do most liberal policies).

But then again, you probably knew that as this blog is really satire ... right? ... :-)

Also, how in the world does it hurt people or our economy to give people well paying jobs? Paul Krugman, a noted Princeton University Economics professor and NYT columnist, has advocated this for years. Or is the New York Times satire too?
